The dilemma of youth unemployment and the disengagement from job-seeking endeavors is a multifaceted issue that isn’t confined to South Korea, but reflects a global trend exacerbated by various economic, social, and political factors. In South Korea, nearly four out of ten young unemployed individuals have remained jobless for the past three years, a testament to the burgeoning crisis. A considerable portion of these individuals are classified as NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), signifying their detachment from job-seeking, education, or training activities. This troubling scenario is further evidenced by the decline in youth employment despite a general increase in employment across all age groups. The ramifications extend beyond just the economic sphere; the ramifications extend beyond just the economic sphere; the ripple effects are seen in the social fabric of the nation. A disengaged youth is a precursor to a future of diminished innovation and societal progress. The loss of potential, the erosion of hope among the young generation, reverberates through the halls of families, communities, and indeed the entire nation. The existential dread of a future unsecured seeps into the collective consciousness, engendering a culture of anxiety and uncertainty.
